Donald Trump quashes the second largest smartphone manufacturer globally due to his trade war with China. Huawei no longer receives an Android license from Google, and other US companies are being forced to cease collaborating with Huawei. This should first of all have no effect on existing devices, and here is not very clear, for example, with promised system updates. After all, the security updates seem to be secured in the future.
Huawei had not commented yet. The now existing statement reads everything else but full of hope:
One affirms once again that one will offer the security updates for devices already in circulation. At the same time, you want to create a secure and sustainable software ecosystem that delivers the best user experience – globally. It remains exciting how it all goes on. Ultimately, this is something not only the companies, but also the users.
